Health Insurance

KOMET of America provides and generously pays up to 100% of health insurance premiums for employees and their dependents. We currently offer employees four plan options:  Two levels of PPO, Cigna Care (HMO-like) and a HDHP (high deductible health plan).  Four tiers of each benefit are available:  single, employee + spouse, employee + children and family.

 

Dental Insurance

KOMET of America provides and pays up to 85% of Delta Dental of Illinois premiums for employees and their dependents. Delta Dental offers employees two plan options for dental insurance: Delta Select (HMO) and PPO.

 

Vision Insurance

KOMET provides employees with an opportunity to purchase 100% employee funded vision insurance through Delta Dental.  

 

Life Insurance

KOMET of America offers all full time employees life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no cost to the employees.

 

New employees also have the option to purchase supplemental life insurance for themselves and family members at their own expense without a medical exam (up to $100,000).

 

Flexible Spending / Dependent Daycare Account 

Use this voluntary benefit to set aside tax free dollars to pay for certain kinds of medical, dental and daycare expenses that insurance doesn't cover.

 

Short / Long Term Disability

KOMET of America offers all full time employees short and long term insurance at no cost.

 

Aflac® Supplemental Disability Benefits 

Voluntary supplemental disability protection is available for employees to purchase at group rates.

 

401(k)

KOMET of America provides a 401(k) investment plan allowing employees investment options in both traditional and ROTH 401(k) vehicles.  Employees are eligible to participate on their very first day of employment.

 

Paid Vacation and Personal Time 

KOMET of America provides paid time off from work via an accrual system. Each month employees accrue paid time off based on their years of service. On an annual basis, new employees can accrue 10 days of paid time off. After only 3 years of service employees are entitled to 15 days off annually. At 10 years of service, employees accrue at the 20 day annual rate.

 

Hourly and non-exempt employees receive 3 personal days each year after one year of service. New hires earn those days - 1 day each after their 6, 7 and 8 month anniversaries.  

 

Employee Assistance Program 

Free, confidential counseling and referral services are available to all employees and their immediate family members for a variety of personal issues.

 

Employee Referral Program

When an employee refers a qualified candidate to KOMET of America and that person is hired and passes their probationary period, (typically 60 days) the referring employee receives a $2,000.00 bonus.

 

Company Provided Wearables 

KOMET of America provides production employees with uniform shirts and safety shoes at the Company's expense.

 

Paid Clean-up Time

KOMET of America offers paid 5 minute clean up time prior to lunch break.
