History
The company was founded in 1918 by the ingenious innovator and inventor Robert Breuning, and has traded
under the name KOMET® since 1924. The company has been based in Besigheim since 1948. With the
takeovers of Dihart® AG in 1996 and Jel® GmbH in 1999, KOMET® rounded off its product portfolio in
drilling machining. As a leading manufacturer of precision tools for sophisticated internal machining, the
KOMET GROUP® is represented throughout the world by 15 subsidiary companies, 40 service and sales centres and 10 production locations.
